Lagos State to begin evacuating vehicles abandoned on Lagos roads come July 1

The Lagos State Government has announced via its Facebook account that it will begin to evacuate vehicles abandoned on the streets of Lagos so as to make the state cleaner and more liveable.



To achieve this, a special task force has been established to carry out the task of getting rid of the vehicles, tricycles, and motorcycles littering the state. Vehicular scrap collection agents have also been appointed by the State Government to assist in ridding Lagos of disused automobiles.

Photos: Tears of joy as separated conjoined twins are discharged after over two years stay in Kenyatta National Hospital, Kenya

Blessing and Favour were discharged on Thursday, June 15th, after staying in Kenyatta National Hospital receiving specialized medical care for two and a half years. The discharge has been informed by a sequence of medical review of the twins by a multidisciplinary team for seven months after the major surgery performed on November 1st, 2016, recommended that the children are in good health for integration with the community..

Photo: EFCC arraigns judge for $260,000, N8.6m fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Friday arraigned a Federal High Court judge, Justice Hyeladzira Nganjiwa, before Justice Adedayo Akintoye of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Igbosere, Lagos on a 14-count charge bordering on unlawful enrichment and giving false information to the EFCC. Justice Nganjiwa is facing trial for failure to disclose the source of the sum of over $260,000 that he allegedly received through his bank account between 2013 and 2015.  He also allegedly received the sum of N8.6 million from unknown sources within the same period.  The alleged offences are in contravention of Section 82(a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State No. 11, 2011.
